Trabert »Egerling« Hunting Boots

The »Egerling« leather boot is made of original Russia leather from the German Allgäu region. The rare Russia leather is soft and yet very durable. Trabert processes this leather up to a thickness of almost 3 mm. Sealed with grease and wax, this leather is exceptionally tear-resistant, hard-wearing and almost waterproof. The effect is maintained by regular greasing. In addition to its water resistance, Russia leather has the advantage of keeping warm at low temperatures and cooling at high temperatures. The hunting boots are lined with soft, breathable leather, ensuring a pleasant and dry foot climate even on long driven hunts and marches. Internal pull-on straps make them easy to put on. The sole has a coarse tread and thus offers a good grip even on muddy ground. The upper leather of the boot is double stitched to the insole. The boot can be resoled by a specialist several times. Russia leather For tanning, two hides of Siberian steppe cows were always stitched together and tanned and greased with willow bark and birch tar oil, which gave the leather its special stability and its special, smoky scent. The special vegetable tanning makes the leather particularly hard-wearing and water-repellent, yet supple. Only a few tanneries are still able to produce this high-quality leather today.
