»Morar« Men's Loden Caban Peacoat

The sporty »Morar« Caban is traditionally made in England from fine Austrian loden cloth. The term »caban« comes from the French and translates as mackintosh or jacket. The jacket was the traditional sailor's uniform in Napoleon's time. It received its special shape in the course of the 18th century: a short and figure-hugging cut for increased freedom of movement during daily work, wide lapels and a large collar for protection against wind and bad weather, two vertical front pockets with slit access and a double-breasted button placket of six to eight buttons. The double row closure allowed sailors to close the coat in either direction, depending on the wind direction. With two bellows patch pockets and two inside pockets, the »Morar« peacoat offers enough storage space for everyday essentials. Two fleece-lined pockets provide extra protection from the cold and wet. Details such as the leather buttons, the finely accentuated quilted lining and the leather undercollar skilfully underline the high-quality workmanship of the jacket.
