After more than four years in casks, this beautiful, elegant Late Bottled Vintage Port was put in bottles.
Late Bottled Vintage is a kind of cross between Vintage Port and Cask Port. A port from a good year that has not been refined maturing in the barrel for at least 4 years. The Quinta do Pégo LBV is mainly made from the grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão and Sousão.
The wine has a dark red colour with intense and sweet aromas of currants, sweet liquorice, blackcurrants, black cherries and roses. It has a rich palate full of concentrated fruit, a silky, creamy texture and an immensely refreshing and lively acidity.
Drunk young, it has a concentrated fruit expression, if you prefer it more mature and mellow, you should give it a few more years of bottle maturity.

Quinta do Pégo and its 30 hectares of A-rated vineyards, some with vines up to 70 years old, are the dream come true for Danish wine enthusiast Karsten Søndergaard. Quinta do Pégo is 138 metres, the vineyards up to 350 metres above the water level of the Douro River, the third longest river in Portugal. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful locations of a quinta in the Douro Valley.
